Casa 43 Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar

Casa 43 is one of the few places on island serving up authentic Mexican food with Latin American influences.  Their lengthy and filling menu consists of antojitos (aka "little cravings"), ceviches, soups, salads, tacos and large plates, with the option of adding on sides if you can handle it.  Their tequila game is on point and you can get some excellent cocktails, including one of the best margaritas on island.

The Signature Chicharron Chips (aka crispy pork rinds) dusted with house made spices and served with an addictive cilantro chili vinaigrette

Queso Fundido is a salty, cheesy and meaty dish. They melt menonita, Oaxaca and cotija cheeses with chorizo, top it with pico de gallo and serve with tortilla chips. Pro tip: I like saltier dishes, so if this is too salty for you then ask for more pico de gallo to even it out.

Roasted corn, onion, jalapeno, Cotija cheese and lime guacamole with homemade corn tortilla chips

Duck Confit Chilaquiles served with pico de gallo, salsa verde, crema, cotija cheese and a free-range egg.

Mexico City Street Corn: grilled corn topped with melted butter, Cotija cheese and pesto aioli

Beef Barbacoa taco - Tender house smoked beef brisket rubbed in ancho chile rub, caramelised onions, cotija cheese and guacamoles on a corn or flour tortilla

Sizzling Fajitas: chicken & flank steak combo sauteed with onions, chile mojo and bell peppers. Smother some sour cream, pico de gallo, pepper jack cheese and guacamole on your flour or corn tortillas.

Mango Margarita: Herradura Reposado tequila, house made mango puree, Spanish anise mango simple syrup and fresh lime juice

Fried Ice Cream - vanilla ice cream in a crispy corn and cocoa powder shell sits on top of an addictive warm cajeta (Mexican caramel) sauce. One of my favourite desserts on island!
