Wellness Festival at the Kimpton

It has been six long months that I’ve waited to take part in one of Kimpton’s Wellness Festivals. I had signed up to stay at the last one in January, but that wasn’t meant to be seeing as I dislocated my collarbone, and ultimately needed surgery, just days in advance. So as you can imagine I was ecstatic once I heard the next one was happening in July under the energy of the full moon.

I did my research and found out there are multiple ways to be a part of this weekend-long event: 1. you can get a Day Pass by booking a beach cabana or daybed for a group that also includes a bottle of bubbles or 2. you can book a room for a night or weekend if you want to attend multiple events. The pricing for two of us to spend one night was CI$199 (not inclusive of fees), but that meant we were allowed to attend events on both Saturday and Sunday. If you make the most of it then the room rate is well worth it as we took part in classes that typically would have drop-in rates of CI$20-25. Calculate that for two people doing at least 4 classes over two days and we easily covered our hotel stay.

Over three days of events, guests learn from and work with the best of the best in the health and wellness arena. Participating in these complimentary events is great exposure for these local businesses and ultimately can bring in new clients that can continue to #supportlocal once the weekend is over. Some of the events I took part in had some familiar faces, including Britta Bush of Saucha with her informative kombucha tasting, beachside yoga with Kiristen Cousins of Vitamin Sea and a choreographed chair dance with Quinntessential Movement. It also allowed me to take part in host of new activities, including a peaceful sound healing with Cenza, a rave-like spinning class with Ryde and a step-by-step painting session dubbed Bubbles and Brushes with Art Nest.

I had an amazing time at the Kimpton’s Wellness Festival that helped me realign my mind, body and spirit with great activities and a stunning location. The Kimpton is constantly hosting events for residents, so be on the lookout for the next event by following them on Instagram and Facebook.
